A: Yes, of course. There is always a first time for everything and here at Uma Yoga we are ready to guide you step by step through any of our classes.Our recommendation is that you remain patient, Yoga is an individual practice, and is different for each person, flexibility, strength and ability to practice is also different. It will only take you a month to see the difference in your skills. You will also learn how to listen to your body and to follow your intuition regarding your own practice, it does not matter what others do, Yoga practice is personal and individual and what matters only is your commitment and discipline.
Q: What do I need to bring to my first class?
A: Comfortable clothing, Yoga is practiced with bare feet, so we recommend you come in sandals or shoes that are easy to remove. Here at Uma yoga we have the necessary equipment for your practice, however once you have decided on your practice commitment we recommend that you acquire a personal mat, it is more hygienic and you can use it to practice at home.
Q: How many times a week is recommended to practice Yoga?
A: Yoga is amazing; even if you only practice once a week you will feel the benefits. The more you practice a week the better you will feel. We suggest that you start with two or three times a week to see how you feel, listen to your body, relax and enjoy the process, with time you will become more participative, and will want to train more.
Q: What do I need to do in order to adapt to a convenient lifestyle for the practice of Yoga?
A: First of all, the most important aspect is to be committed to the practice and drink plenty of water, over time you will engage with the philosophy and develop consciousness of what is more convenient for your health, and consistent to your practice.
Q: Is it possible to participate in a session, even if I have a back injury?
A: Yoga is for everyone, in Uma we have special classes for you to recover balance and harmony in your body and mind. If you suffer from an injury, we recommend the Therapeutic Yoga class with Beatriz, although you may also participate in the Restorative Yoga class with Paola, it all depends on how you feel, and you may also join other classes depending on your development and instructor recommendations. Rest assure, Uma Yoga Instructors are very careful and pay close attention to prevent injuries. However we remind you that only you are responsible for your health and well-being, we recommend you respect and honor your body, do not push your limits and above all enjoy the experience of Yoga.
